    Before joining ACRE as Executive Director, Grayson was employed with Carter Real Estate as General Manager of SouthBridge in Birmingham, where he led an award-winning office building management and leasing team that was passionately focused on their client's success - highlighted by customer service excellence. His team was recognized as Carter's corporate wide "Class A Office Building of the Year" for four consecutive years (03-06). Grayson was recognized in 2006 as a Lifetime Member - Birmingham Commercial Million Dollar Sales Club.

    Prior to his employment with Carter, Grayson worked for Birmingham based Southpace Properties, Inc. where he was responsible for a property management portfolio totaling 400,000 square feet. During this period, Grayson also attended law school at night and graduated with a class rank of 12/122.

    In 2005, Grayson was recognized as a member of "Top 40 under 40" business leader class by the Birmingham Business Journal and the CPM Candidate of the Year by the Alabama IREM Chapter. He also began teaching and remains as an Adjunct Professor at UA, responsible for instructing the Principles in Real Estate Management course.

    Grayson holds a Bachelor's degree ('89) in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from the University of Alabama and a Juris Doctor ('02) from the Birmingham School of Law.

    Grayson is married to the former Wendy Ruth Garner who also graduated from the University of Alabama ('86). They have three children, Carlton (13), Wilson (9) and Caroline Grayson (3). He is a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa and enjoys his involvement with their Royal Ambassador program, 10th and 11th grade Sunday School and Men's Fraternity.

    As a licensed Realtor® Sandra was active in real estate sales with Prudential Pritchett-Moore and RealtySouth Real Estate Companies in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area. During her tenure with Realty South she traveled to Birmingham and participated in 60+ hours to earn her CRSA Designation and also attended classes for the ABR Designation. As a Marketing Representative and Leasing Agent, Sandra has experience in Property Management having worked with the upscale apartment community, Inverness Apartment Homes in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

    Sandra earned her BS degree in Education and her Masters Degree in Educational Counseling at the University of Alabama. In her early years she owned and operated a State-of-the-Art early childhood learning center and later worked in both the Tuscaloosa County and the Tuscaloosa City School Systems. She was also the first local marketing representative for Capstone Village, the University sponsored Active Adult Community located on the University campus.

    Affiliation in various civic and charitable organizations has been continuous throughout Sandra's life, but her most recent involvements include the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and National Associations of Realtors; Zeta Tau Alpha Alumni Association; Friends of Historic Northport; the XI Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education; and the Chi Sigma Iota, Professional Counseling Association. Sandra is also an active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

    Family is very important to Sandra. She is married to Lew Drummond, a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Business and Executive Assistant to the President of Shelton State Community College. They have two children, Clarke, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, AES PreCast, Northport, AL and Kate Drummond, Executive Assistant, Van Scoyoc, & Ass., Washington, DC.

    Sandra loves the University of Alabama and is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the education of realtors and those interested in real estate throughout the State of Alabama; and, to supporting students in their efforts to learn and interconnect with professionals in the field.

    Before joining the Alabama Center for Real Estate as Research Coordinator, Shelby was employed with Accenture on the AT&T Information Technology Engagement and worked with software testing in the AT&T (formerly BellSouth Telecommunications) Billing System for more than eight years. He worked in Software System Testing for Wholesale and Retail Billing at the AT&T Birmingham Data Center as a part of software testing efforts for software updates for use in the telecommunication billing systems of AT&T in a nine state region. Accenture is a worldwide company currently employing more than 170,000 people.

    Prior to his employment with Accenture, Shelby worked for more than twenty years in a number of management positions with McRae's Department Stores with headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi. McRae's grew from a small local retailer that started operations in Jackson, MS in 1900 to a twenty-seven department store chain located in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. This growth was the result of the aggressive development of new store locations and the later acquisition of the Pizitz chain of department stores based in Birmingham, AL. McRae's was later acquired by Proffitt's Department Stores, and finally by Belk's Department Stores.

    Within the McRae's organization, Shelby held various positions of responsibility in Store Management in Merchandising and in Operations, as a Buyer in the Home Area, as member of a Regional Office with responsibilities of coordinating Merchandising Direction in stores and Merchandise liaison with the Central Buying Offices for trends and direction for new buying opportunities in addition to being involved in management Merchandising training in the regional stores. He was also a member of the regional field team involved in the acquisition, coordination of effort and reorganization of an eleven store department chain acquired by McRae's.

    Shelby received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Business Administration from Samford University in Birmingham. He received the Samford University School of Business Faculty Scholarship in May, 1996.

    Jean Fuller is the Program Assistant for Alabama Center for Real Estate. She joined the Center in April, 2007. She is a graduate of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a minor in film studies from Tulane University, where she participated in the honors program.

    College was followed by a move to Rockland County, New York, where Jean worked for Valley Cottage Animal Hospital and for Allergy and Asthma Consultants. She participated in the Rockland County Shakespeare and Penguin Repertory theatre companies. Since moving to Tuscaloosa, Jean has worked for a number of businesses, including Tuscaloosa Surgical Center and Southern Diamond Company.

    Jean is truly a multi-talented multi-tasker. Her hobbies include acting, directing, costuming, historical research, and medieval re-creation. She is a founding member of Tuscaloosa's summer Shakespeare troupe, The Rude Mechanicals, and serves as Herald for the local Society of Creative Anachronism shire.

    O. William "Bill" Evans is chairman of The Premier Companies, which is comprised of Premier Properties, Inc., a commercial real estate brokerage and consulting firm, and Premier Development, LLC, a commercial real estate development firm. Bill founded the Premier Companies in1983 with the formation of Premier Properties. He subsequently built, operated and eventually sold Premier Business Centers in Birmingham and Premier Self Storage in Tuscaloosa.

    Earlier in his career, Bill was president and owner of HQ Birmingham, Inc. as well as Tuscaloosa Aircraft Painting Company, Inc. Also, for a period of ten years, he was with the corporate office of Century 21 Real Estate Corporation, where he was a member of the international franchise company's Board of Directors and was president of Century 21 of Texas.

    Bill is a founding member and first vice president of the Alabama Self Storage Association. He has served as past president of the Diabetes Trust Foundation, the Commercial Real Estate Club of Birmingham and the Rotary Club of Inverness in Birmingham.

    Along with his wife, Denise, Bill is co-author of The Complete Real Estate Encyclopedia, published by McGraw-Hill. McGraw-Hill promotes world-wide distribution of the book, which is positioned by the publisher as the resource of choice for real estate and lending professionals, attorneys, academics and students.

    Bill received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Alabama and he earned a Juris Doctor degree at the Birmingham School of Law.

    Appointed to the position of Assistant to the Dean of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama, Bill acts as the liaison with the real estate industry in the state. In addition, he teaches several undergraduate and graduate level courses and, in 2004, he was as selected as a speaker in the Lowder Lecture Series and was named the first Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University.

    A member of the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Center for Real Estate since 2003, Bill was named Chairman in 2007. On January 1, 2007 he assumed the position of Interim Executive Director of ACRE, a position which he held until Grayson Glaze was named as Executive Director in August, 2007. Bill will continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ACRE until the end of 2008, at which time he will be succeeded by Dave Roberts who is currently Vice Chairman.

    David A.     Steve Graham, along with brother Mike, has led Graham & Company for the past 30 years with growth in the office and industrial sectors across central and north Alabama and now into markets in Florida. With a staff of over 50 employees and agents, Steve holds the position of Chairman and handles the duties of the Qualifying Broker for the Birmingham office.

    Steve received his JD degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1978 and has been active in the field of valuation and appraisal for over 25 years.     Peyton Norville has been with Jefferson Title Corporation since March 1, 2004, after a thirty-one year career as a real estate brokerage owner and executive. In 2002, The Alabama Association of REALTORS© created “The Above and Beyond Award” for Peyton “in recognition of his extraordinary efforts for the overall good of the Association and its members”. He received the David D. Roberts Award in 2000 “for distinguished service and outstanding leadership”.

    The Birmingham Association of REALTORS© awarded him its Tom Rast President’s Cup in December, 2003. This lifetime achievement award recognizes “outstanding leadership and service to the Association."     Chad Hagwood, Senior Vice President and Manager of the Alabama office of Capmark Finance Inc. (“Capmark”), formally GMAC Commercial Mortgage, is actively involved in the origination of commercial real estate debt, equity, and mezzanine financing for commercial real estate properties. In his role, he is charged with ensuring that Capmark’s customers receive the best possible terms, service and attention throughout the loan process through diligent coordination of underwriting and legal personnel. In addition, Mr. Hagwood is responsible for all management operations of the Alabama office and jointly oversees Capmark’s origination and growth efforts for the Southeast. During his career, Mr. Hagwood has closed in excess of $3 billion in commercial real estate transactions.

    Mr. Hagwood lead a team of seasoned professionals to establish Capmark’s Alabama office in 2003 and is one of approximately forty-four branch managers within the company and is the youngest individual to hold the Senior Vice President title. Since the Birmingham office opened in mid-April 2003, its has been recognized by as the most profitable start-up office in the company’s history and was recognized as Capmark’s “Office of the Year” in 2005. Mr. Hagwood was one of the company’s top five Fannie Mae producers in 2003 and 2004 and the number one Fannie Mae originator in 2005. Additionally, he was one of Capmark’s top five overall producers in 2005, 2006 and year-to-date 2007. According to the Annual Origination Rankings report recently released by the Mortgage Bankers Association, during 2006 Capmark’s Birmingham office originated more than four times the loan volume of its nearest competitor and more than double the combined loan volume of its top three competitors in the Birmingham market.

    He currently serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board for the University of Alabama’s School of Business Finance Department. Additionally, Mr. Hagwood serves on the Advisory Board for J.P. Morgan Mortgage Capital, the Board of Directors for the Alabama Chapter of CCIM, the Editorial Advisory Board of the Commercial Property Directory of Alabama, the Leadership Counsel for the University of Alabama’s Real Estate Research and Education Center, is a recurring speaker at the University of Alabama’s School of Business Administration’s Executive Lecture Series and has published articles in national trade journals such as Commercial Real Estate Investment, Commercial Lender, Scottsman’s Guide, and Commercial Mortgage Insight. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Chapter of CCIM. Mr. Hagwood is a 2002 recipient of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” award, recognizing young business leaders in the Birmingham area, was recognized as one of the 25 innovative leaders in Birmingham’s Banking and Finance Industry, and was named one of Birmingham’s Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate in 2004.

    Mr. Hagwood earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance in 1995 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where his areas of concentration were Commercial Real Estate Finance and Investment/Institutional Finance. While at UAB, Mr. Hagwood received presidential honors his senior year, earned a position on the Dean’s list both his junior and senior years and served as President of both Rho Epsilon, the National Real Estate Fraternity, and the Financial Management Association.

    Jordy is a Senior Vice President at Wachovia Bank. He manages the MidSouth Real Estate Lending Group out of Birmingham, AL. Coverage includes clients from Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and the Florida Panhandle. He also manages Wachovia’s Senior Housing Group initiating centralized efforts to bank operators within the Senior Industry from throughout the continental United States. Through these groups Jordy is responsible for a portfolio of over $2.4 billion, with annual average loan production in excess of $1 billion. Jordy has been with the Bank for 13-years.

    Previously (prior to merger with Wachovia), Jordy helped formulate and was Managing Director of SouthTrust’s Commercial Mortgage Group were he was responsible for CRE ancillary income and strategic planning. In this capacity he was responsible for Off-Balance Sheet Placement (institutional, agency and conduit relationships), Syndications & Participations, Specialized Real Estate Lending including creation of a Mezz-Lite Product, and REIT Project Finance Lending.

    Jordy is a graduate of The University of Alabama (’88) with a degree in Finance and a concentration in Economics. While there he was active in Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Upon graduation, Jordy completed the Management Training Program at Barnett Bank in Orlando, Florida. During that time, he attended night school obtaining a Masters Degree in Economics from The University of Central Florida.

    Jordy is married to the former Kimberly Ann Jaynes who graduated from the University of Alabama’s School of Education (’89) and was active in Alpha Omicron Pi. They have 4 wonderful children; Heather (14), Holli (12), Hope (9), and Jordan (6).

    Active at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Jordy teaches a couples Sunday School Class and is also involved as a Deacon and member of the Finance Committee. Jordy serves on the Board of the Scott Dawson Evangelical Association. He also participates in Leadership Vestavia Hills and is on the Vestavia Hills Park & Recreation Board.

    Jim Scott is the Director of Corporate Real Estate for Alabama Power Company with responsibility for real estate operations including acquisitions, management, and development. Prior to assuming his current position, Jim was Manager of Development Sales and Leasing.

    Jim began his employment with Alabama Power Company in 1978. He progressed through various positions in the Birmingham and Western Divisions including Collections Manager, Assistant Accounting Manager and Business Office Manager. Throughout his career he has been involved in and served in leadership roles in numerous charitable, civic, and professional organizations.

    Ryan has been working in some form of education since his college days ended at Auburn University. He received a B.S. in Building Construction in 1990 and began coursework in the M.B.A. program. Ryan received an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Troy University in Montgomery in 1993 after accepting a job at Faulkner University where he served as director of one of the adult programs in the College of Business.

    Ryan's introduction to real estate took place in 1996 when he was hired by the Alabama Association of REALTORS® to serve as the Director of Education and Board Services after working 4 years at Faulkner University. He handled all educational offerings at AAR including the GRI Designation, the Salesmanship Conference in Tuscaloosa, the Real Estate Education Fair in Auburn, and various CE offerings. He left AAR in late 1998 to return to Faulkner University for another 4 years.
